Love Yourself.

I’ve seen this phrase so many times in my life, but recently this has been hitting me different.

It’s incredibly easy to get caught up in the day to day grind, doing the same things every morning and every night that we often forget to do the little things that make life enjoyable.

I used to put so much energy into doing everything right every day, no matter what the circumstance is or what’s going on, to the point where it was impacting my happiness and my health. I had pigeonholed myself into a routine that was not working for me, and trying to constantly be perfect was causing me more stress and anxiety than I could reasonably handle.

What I didn’t fully realize is that this stress will not solve itself, and trying to appear perfect all of the time is both unreasonable and very likely causing me more stress than it should.

To fix this, I had to take matters into my own hands and create an environment and mindset that would allow me to do things I love while releasing stress from my life and bringing me fulfillment in life.

Since implementing this, I’ve learned that the secret is not about anything I can buy, or any specific workout or diet plan, or any pep talk any Joe Schmoe can give me. It’s simply about putting in the work to create an environment that reflects the love that I feel for myself.

Or, on days that I’m not feeling so loving, maybe just create an environment that reflects the love I wish I had for myself.

This just means taking time to make choices that will help myself in the future and that promotes wellness in my life. For me, this might mean setting out my work or workout clothes the night before, or getting my morning water prepared before I go to bed, or maybe having a healthy snack or meal prepared for the next day. Ideally, I just want to make a priority out of helping future me be the best me possible.

Now that I’ve taken on this mindset, daily tasks are now starting to be geared towards self-love and fulfillment rather than just being chores or just a workout, and it feels great.

So here’s my takeaway:

Do everything in life with purpose. Do it because you care for a better life and a better self. Do it because you want to be happy, and do it because you know you deserve it. Do it for you, and you alone. You can do it, and you have greatness waiting for you when you get there. Just keep loving.
